Introduction to silicon nitride ceramic threaded fasteners

Silicon nitride ceramic threaded fasteners have low thermal expansion coefficient and high thermal conductivity, so they have excellent thermal shock resistance. Within a temperature of 1200°C, silicon nitride structural parts have high strength and impact resistance. The hot-pressed sintered silicon nitride will not break even if it is put into cold water after being heated to 1000°C. At temperatures that are not too high, silicon nitride has high strength and impact resistance, but it will be damaged as the use time increases above 1200°C, reducing its strength. It is more prone to fatigue damage above 1450°C. Therefore, the operating temperature of Si3N4 generally does not exceed 1300°C.
